Cecilia Li
Hello, my name is Cecilia. I have always valued connecting with people and learning about their experiences, and this is something I continue to find meaningful in my work as a counsellor. I believe that our struggles are often shaped by our past experiences, circumstances, relationships, and the support available to us. Growing up with experiences of both Chinese and Canadian cultures has also shaped my perspective and my appreciation for the different ways our backgrounds influence how we see ourselves and the world around us.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a Master of Counselling degree from City University of Seattle. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, with a minor in Asian Studies, from UBC. Through my clinical counselling work in community settings, I have supported individuals navigating a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, self-esteem, parenting, and relationship and family difficulties. I offer counselling in both English and Mandarin.
My approach to counselling is warm, empathetic, collaborative, and non-judgmental. I believe that people deserve to be understood within the context of their own experiences, rather than viewed through the lens of their struggles. I aim to create a space where you can feel comfortable being yourself, explore what’s on your mind at your own pace, and make sense of patterns that may be affecting your life and relationships. Drawing from person-centred therapy, parts work, ACT, Emotionally Focused approaches, and trauma-informed practice, I work alongside you to deepen self-understanding and explore ways forward that feel meaningful to you.
I feel privileged to be trusted with the stories people share with me. I approach this work with care, curiosity, and respect for each person’s unique journey, and I’m grateful for all that I learn from my clients and the perspectives they bring.

Mr. Jiaxuan Zhu
Hi, my name is Jack. I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor who works with English- and Mandarin-speaking adults navigating challenges such as life transitions, interpersonal difficulties, self-esteem, and stress.
I was born in China and came to Canada on my own as an international student at the age of 16. Driven by my interest in psychology, I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Simon Fraser University. However, like many people entering a new stage of life, I found myself feeling uncertain and lost about what came next. Looking back, I realized that I had been carrying many thoughts and emotions on my own since moving to Canada, even with loving and supportive family and friends around me. Some of these struggles took years to better understand and work through, and eventually led me to experience counselling for myself.
That experience, along with my own journey of growth, helped me appreciate that everyone carries their own unique challenges, some of which can be difficult to face alone. It also inspired me to pursue my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and become a counsellor myself. Today, I hope to walk alongside people who are seeking to better understand themselves, make peace with parts of their experiences, and build a life they can fully enjoy and embrace.
I believe that everyone has the potential to make peace with themselves and grow toward the person they want to be when given a safe environment to reflect, explore, and practice. I strive to build relationships with my clients where they feel safe sharing thoughts and experiences that they may not feel comfortable sharing with family or friends outside the counselling room. Through self-understanding, collaborative goal-setting, and skill-building, I believe we can work together to help you move closer to the life you want and the person you aspire to be.
In my free time, I’m an enthusiastic gamer and enjoy playing games across a wide range of genres. I also love using examples and analogies from video games in counseling, and I’ve found that many clients find them surprisingly intuitive and fitting for what they’re experiencing. So, if you’re a gamer too, feel free to let me know! :)
